Safety and warmth can go hand in hand
With the cold winter days upon us, we’ve entered one of the few times of the year where the South Coast weather is better enjoyed from indoors than outdoors. And considering that the daylight hours are also substantially reduced, this means being extra vigilant with our home security. For instance, it’s wise to put an automated driveway gate so one doesn’t have to get out in the cold – and unsafe – evening to open our gates on the way home. Additionally, it’s wise to ensure that security gates are on our doors and burglar guards on our windows.
Margate Engineering’s Managing Director Geoff Howard-Tripp says his company has been securing South Coast homes for more than 50 years. “Having a fence and an automated gate is a very good idea for your property because it’s your first line of defence. And when you get to the actual house, even when an ordinary window or door is closed, it generally takes very little effort for the average thief to pry them open. But properly installed security gates and burglar guards will offer serious protection against such intrusions. A key component of this is the hot-dip galvanising process which guarantees strength and durability in the corrosive local climate as well as a careful, solid installation.”
In addition to burglar guards and gates, Margate Engineering offers other security solutions such as roller shutter doors, custom-made garage doors and fencing. Visit their workshops and showroom in Manaba Beach or learn more on their website at
