Burglar proofing your doors and windows is worthwhile
As winter steadily approaches and daylight hours get ever shorter, homeowners are having to lock their doors up sooner at night and it’s all the more reason to assess your home security and make sure it’s sufficient for your family’s protection. Should you put some burglar guards on the windows that might be left ajar for ventilation or some security gates on those doors that in themselves offer very little security?
It’s remarkable how much resistance, both mental and physical, a burglar guard or security gate will give to an intruder’s dark intentions, says Geoff Howard-Tripp, managing director of the South Coast’s landmark security firm Margate Engineering. “Even when a window or door is closed, it generally takes little more than a screwdriver and some brute force to pry them open but properly installed internal or external burglar proofing is very difficult, if not impossible, for the average thief to penetrate. Key to this is the hot-dip galvanising process which guarantees strength and durability in the corrosive local climate as well as a careful, solid installation.”
In addition to burglar guards and gates, Margate Engineering offers other security solutions such as roller shutter doors, custom-made garage doors and fencing. Visit their workshops and showroom in Manaba Beach or learn more on their website at
