Staircases with a difference
Every home with upper levels needs stairs to connect the floors but why not make it extra special and install a staircase that is as beautiful as it is functional? How about choosing a floating staircase that from certain angles almost appears to defy gravity when in fact it is even more solid than many traditional stairways?
Margate Engineering, a local firm established in 1958, has seen a growth in popularity for such staircases on the South Coast. Managing Director Geoff Howard-Tripp says, “In addition to the traditional burglar bars, fences and gates home security can include these sturdily built staircases complemented with stylish railings such as polished stainless steel. Such a theme can easily flow into any balustrading requirements in the rest of the home. With our specialised equipment such as a profile bending machine, we’re capable of working virtually any curvature into our customers’ railing design.”
A case in point is Margate Engineering’s recent installation of both a floating staircase and extensive balustrading at the Munster home of Ashley Magnus, who says “I’m happy with the workmanship that Margate Engineering has shown and they have been pleasant to work with, too.”
Margate Engineering’s security specialists supply a whole range of installations such as burglar proofing, garage doors, window shuttering and security automation. Visit them today at their factory in Manaba Beach.
